Have you ever seen someone on a street corner asking for help and whispered to yourself, “I wish I could help, but I just don’t want to give them money” or “I just don’t know what to say?” We are going to give you that opportunity to help with Care Kits.
Care Kits are bags of items to help make life a little easier for someone who is trying to make it on a day-to-day basis. Especially since we are in our typical southern winter of unpredictable temperatures.
Beginning Sunday, January 22, there will be boxes around campus for you to place items for the Care Kits. We will collect these items up to Super Sunday, February 5. On the following Wednesday, February 8, we will host a packing party in the Fellowship Hall to assemble complete kits. At the culmination of this project, on Sunday, February 12, we will pray over these Care Kits, then ask everyone to take one and use it as a tool to share the love of Jesus with someone who needs help. We have divided the list of items among the three age divisions in Bible Fellowship: Children, Students and Adults. Children & Teachers in birth-6th grade classes will bring lip balm, combs, mints, & gum. Students and student ministry workers will collect scarves, hats, gloves & socks. Adults will bring shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, light weight snacks, bottled water, hand warmers, & lotion.
If you have not connected to a Bible Fellowship Class, here’s the list:
- toothbrush holders
- lip balm
- smallb first aid kits
- lightweight snacks
- small containers of hand sanitizer
- word of encouragement
