CONSECRATE. Fast. Read. Pray. Hearts prepared. Eyes on tomorrow. October 30 to November 1.

Before Israel crossed the Jordan, Joshua gave them one instruction:

“Consecrate yourselves, because the LORD will do wonders among you tomorrow.” (Joshua 3:5)

First North is standing at a crossing of its own, facing a big transition, the biggest one we’ve had in 42 years. The mission hasn’t changed, and God has good things ahead. So we’re doing what Israel did: setting ourselves apart, seeking His will, and getting ready for what He’s about to do.

The number 40 is significant in Scripture. Moses was on Mount Sinai for 40 days receiving the Law from God that determined the future for God’s people. Jesus spent 40 days fasting and praying before he began his public ministry. The number 40 has been significant for God’s people as they have been in a time of preparation for the future.
