For many of us, the “college years” are characterized by questioning everything and trying to figure out what we believe about God and the world around us. This can be extremely dangerous unless we land on something that has sufficient answers to satisfy our souls. As Christians, we believe this is only found in the person and work of Jesus Christ for us and our salvation. Scripture tells us that we need to set Christ apart as holy, which will give us a guiding principle on how we think and live.

We live in a world of tolerance. It’s on bumper stickers; it’s on signs at protests; it’s in the work place and on college campuses. Strangely, the one thing that so many people are intolerant of is the Gospel.
The Gospel is offensive. You are a sinner in need of forgiveness, is not something most people want to hear, but it is a truth that the world desperately needs to hear. This reality is often most clearly portrayed on the college campus.

This year at the SWO College Retreat, we are going to take encouragement from Scripture and learn to boldly and uncompromisingly live out our faith. Whether in the halls of academia, on lunch break at work, or at the coffee shop with friends, we must believe and live out the words of Paul —
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

Scripture commands us to be aware of the attacks we face and equip ourselves to be a light in a dark world. The Snowbird College Retreat is built around this mission: equip yourself to grow deeper in your faith, renew your mind, and engage the culture around you.
